Texas Homeowners!

On April 17, 2015, we signed the papers for our new house in Texas!  It was a long morning, but a wonderful one.  As we stepped out into the sun after signing the papers, I snapped a picture, which Dave was not expecting... He really is happy about the house!!

We started moving in that afternoon... and stayed there that night for the first time!  We got everything moved over with no help from "outsiders", except for the washer, dryer, and piano, which came over later...  It was a lot of work, but so nice to be in our own home!!

Final Walk-Through

Our home is done (except for a few minor paint touch-ups and things...)!  Wahoo!  We had our final walkthrough with the builder on Monday.  I took pictures as we went along.  Friday is our closing day!  Eeeek!!

Awards for Little Smarties

Brooke and Autumn's end-of-the-quarter assembly was Friday morning.  The both got recognized for straight A's on their report cards.  (They call their names, and they just stand where they are...)  Brooke also got perfect attendance for this quarter.  The girls are all doing really well... I am so proud of them!

Chloe's Birthday

Chloe's Birthday was Easter Sunday... and General Conference.  She got to stay in her pj's all day, lounge about eating candy and listening to uplifting messages, and eating a scrumptious dinner.  She chose to have Dave smoke some whole chicken to go with our sides... it was a delicious dinner.  Then we had her cake.  She didn't want a sheet cake with anything on top... she wanted a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting...  It was very delicious.  We love our Chloe.  Happy Birthday Sweetie!

For Beehives in Young Women's on Wednesday, we had a Mother-Daughter facial night.  We did homemade products, and Chloe got a little crazy and gobbed it on!  Such a weirdo! :)

It is so crazy that Chloe is 13 years old!  It seems like just yesterday that she was a little girl, playing rough, being crazy, getting messy, and loving her family intensely.  She is a sweet, sensitive, loving, spunky, funny, beautiful young woman.  We are so glad she is part of our family!  Happy Birthday Sweetheart!

We took Chloe out for her birthday date on Friday evening.  We went to Chiloso for dinner (a local Mexican food restaurant), then went to the movie "Insurgent".  We love our Chloe!

Easter Eggs!

The Easter bunny came Friday night, so the girls got to get their baskets and candy Saturday morning!  There was a lot of candy!  They each got some stuffed animals, which they love!  We like it when the Easter bunny comes early, so we can focus on the real reason to celebrate Easter on Sunday- the Savior!  The eggs are fun, but we are truly grateful for a loving Savior who made the ultimate sacrifice for all of us!

Camping at Caddo Lake State Park

We finally got to take our camping trip!  We took the girls out of school early on Thursday and drove three hours almost to the Louisiana border to Caddo Lake (the only natural lake in Texas).  It was really fun.  We ended up covered in bug spray and sweat, mixed in dirt and dust, but it was a wonderful family time!  We explored around, ate great camping food, played together, and slept in a tent.  It was great!
