Happy Hogwarts Birthday!

Brooke's party was today.  It was a Harry Potter theme, and turned out to be really fun!  There were 10 little girls running around, screaming and yelling and being crazy.  Brooke had a lot of fun!

Let Them Eat Cake!

Brooke's cake was Harry Potter themed (as will her party be, this Saturday).  She really liked it!  I am so glad!  Happy birthday little Brookie!

Birthday fun!

Last night, Dave and I took Brooke out for her birthday date. She chose Panda Express. She is so darn cute, I just love her!

She woke up this morning super early... Like 3:00 early!  It had been threatening to snow, and she was hoping to have a snow day for her birthday. No luck. It was delayed 2 hours though!  Almost as good!  We got to see her open her gifts and had donuts. 

For lunch, I brought McDonalds (her choice), and ate at school with her. She had 3 friends sit at the visitor table with us. It was fun. Tonight, we will eat cake and finish off the day celebrating some more. 

We are so glad that Brooke is our girl!  It is so hard to believe she is already 10... It seems just yesterday she was a little baby!  Happy birthday Brookie. We love you!

It is hard to believe that Brooke is 10!  She is such a smart, kind, loving, sweet girl, and we are blessed to call her ours!  Happy birthday, Brookie Lou!

The most recent news on our house is that the outside work is mostly done!! Yay!!  The brick and stone look so good. Now they are starting on the floor, trim, and doors inside. So exciting!

Happy Mardi Gras!

We have a tradition for Mardi Gras.  For the last 5 years or so, we have tried a new cajun dish for dinner on Mardi Gras, then eat beignets, and watch "The Princess and the Frog".  We have had a lot of fun with it!  This year we went totally new for dinner (even though we had to do it Monday because our "Fat Tuesday" was booked)!  We had Cajun Boil.  It is cajun spiced and boiled potatoes, corn cobs, sausages, shrimp, and crab legs.  (You really can have anything you want in it...)  The best part for the girls is the way you eat it.  You dump it on the table (usually on newspaper) and then dig in!  It was really fun, and the food was good.

Valentine's Day Fun!

Our Valentine's Day began on Friday.  Dave and I had a great dinner date... we got take-out from an Italian restaurant and had a picnic in our new house.  It was nice!  Dave got me beautiful flowers and yummy chocolates!  On Saturday, Valentine's Day, we woke up and gave the girls their Valentine treats from us, and then we went for a hike at the Heard together.  It was a beautiful day, with perfect weather!  Later that evening, Ciera had a church dance to attend, so Dave and I took her and then we met friends for desserts.  We had crepes that were yummy!  It was a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Our Home is Getting Closer!!

It seems like the progress on the house moves so fast.  The brick and stone was started before the drywall was completed.  Both are almost done!  It is looking so good!  We are getting so very excited!

Home Progress

Our house is getting closer!  We are estimating that we will be moving in sometime in May!  It is so exciting!  They insulated it last week, and then we walked through with the builder.  After our meeting, they put up the drywall.  It is a lot easier to picture the rooms and everything now.  They are supposed to be starting on the brick and stone any day (it is all there now... just waiting on the manpower to start)!  I can't wait to see it done!!
