Rhyme and Rolls

Dave went on a coin show trip for work Wednesday through Saturday, and the girls and I had a "girl party".  We did fun things, like eat out a couple of times, go out for Fro-Yo, go to a movie (we saw Paddington, which was very cute), go to a friend's birthday party, eat homemade cinnamon rolls for breakfast, and go to East's play "Seussical".  Ciera and Chloe were not really feeling up to the play on the night we went, so I took Brooke and Autumn.  It was really cute!  The script & music was a mixture of different Dr. Seuss books.  I really liked it (and so did the girls)!  It was a fun four days... even though we missed Dave terribly!

Locks of Love

Ciera decided that she wanted to cut her hair today. She wanted to go short... Which was a big change. She had previously said she wanted to grow her hair really long. Since we were cutting off quite a bit, I measured, and she had enough to donate to "locks of love".  This is the first time any of my girls have had enough hair cut off to donate. Ciera looks so cute, and her hair is going to a good cause!

Sickness and Sunny Days

Poor Chloe has been home sick for a few days with strep throat.  She has been miserable... Poor girl.  The weather has been so beautiful for the last couple of days (thanks to bipolar Texas weather), up in the 70s, that we have been able to play outside.  Brooke and Autumn went over to the park after school to play.  It was such a beautiful afternoon, and they had fun!  This weekend it is supposed to get cold again, so we will enjoy the sunny weather while it lasts!

House Progress

Our house is coming right along... The electrical, plumbing, and air ducts all went in last week.  We are always going over there walking through the house, so here are a few pics of the inside...

Smarty Pants Girls

The end of the first semester was last week, so we got to see what grades our girls earned (which is always a little tense for me).  I always want for them to do so well.  I really don't need to worry...  Brooke and Autumn were both recognized at school for straight As this quarter.  I went to Dino Beat (their awards assembly) and got to see them beaming with happiness at their accomplishment.  (It was pajama day... so all the kids getting their awards were in their jammies!)  Brooke also got a "100 point" shirt for the Accelerated Reader program.  I was a proud mom!

Ciera and Chloe also did well in their classes.  They are both taking a very difficult course load, with honors, Pre AP, and AP classes.  Chloe got all As and one B on her report card.  Ciera got all As and Bs, (with one C in her AP class).  I am so proud at how hard they work and how smart they are!  My girls rocked the first semester!  I can't wait to see how well they do in the second!

Almost a house!

Our house is coming along!  They poured the foundation, two days later started framing, and were done framing the whole thing the next day.  The following week, they put in windows and the exterior siding, and put on the roof!  It is starting to look like a house!  We took the girls around inside before the siding and windows, and we all wrote our favorite scriptures, principles or words on the boards, and wrote our names or initials.  That way, our house is "built on" a sure foundation of the gospel!  Over the next couple of months, our home will be finished... We are so excited!

Autumn's Baptism and Grandparents' Visit

On January 3, 2015, Autumn Susan Tanner was baptized and confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints!  She was so beautiful and sweet.  We are so proud of her and her choice to make such an important covenant.  Her friend Lena was baptized also... which was really fun for them.  It was a great day.
Grandma and Grandpa Tanner were able to fly in on Friday evening to be here for Autumn's big day.  It was a really nice visit.  We took them to see the model of the home that we are building, and the place it will be built.  We went out to eat together, and enjoyed their company for the time they were here.  Sunday was Grandma's birthday, so we celebrated with her!  We are so glad they were here, and we are so glad for the occasion that brought us together!
