General Women's Session of General Conference

It is so fun to have all of my girls come with me to the General Women's Meeting!  Since they changed it a year and a half ago, so that all girls age 8 and up can go, I have been blessed to have a lot of company!  It is fun... we get to go to dinner and fill our bellies, and then be inspired and filled spiritually.  This year, there was a dinner at the church before the meeting.  It was Mexican food... and was delicious.  After the meeting, we went out to Braums for ice cream.  Yum!

Bread

I taught Ciera how to make homemade bread.  With no mixer... just a lot of arm power!  She has made a few batches so far, and we always take most of the loaves to friends and neighbors who could use some yummy goodness to brighten their day.  It always smells so good in the house when it is baking, and the final product tastes delicious too!

Time Out For Women

I was lucky enough to attend the Time Out for Women event in Arlington this year.  It was a wonderful weekend of music and inspiring speakers.  I has a lot of fun with my friends and being uplifted, entertained, and inspired as well!  They have a Time Out for Girls event at the same time... maybe next year I can take mine too!

The Heard in the Fall

We took our first trip to the Heard Museum since last spring.  It was a really beautiful day, and it was so nice to get out and walk around.  We didn't see much wildlife, just one snake that took off into the trees as we approached, and a few turtles on logs in the water.  We really love going to the Heard.  They have really improved their inside museum exhibits as well, which is fun for the little kids!

3rd Grade Accolades

Autumn was awarded the "Jimmy John's Student of the Week" award on the 3rd week of school.  She was chosen because she is doing so well with following the rules, learning the ropes, and fitting in at a new school.  They said, "She always tries hard, and you can't tell that she is a new student.  She has made friends and has really become an Akin Frog!"  We are so proud of our Autumn girl!
