Utah Part 2

On Monday, July 21, we headed down to Zanny's house and got there in the evening.  Grandma and Grandpa Tanner, and Gill and Maclynn's family were already there.  We were able to do lots of fun things with family over the next few days.  One of the fun things we did was the Alpine Slides at Park City.  It is a slide at the ski resort... we rode the ski lift (for the first time) and slid down on sleds.  It was pretty fun!  We swam, played, ate out (Kneaders!!), and went to BYU to the Bean Museum and the bookstore.  It was really great getting together with family.  (We really missed those that couldn't come!!)

Utah Vacation Part 1

We went on vacation to Utah on July 17th.  (We drove ALLLLLLL day!)  We arrived late that night to the Hamblin's house.  We spent Friday at Hyrum Dam, and played on the wave runners and in the water.  The rest of the weekend was spent playing games and hanging out!  It was great!  Unfortunately, we had to leave on Monday... but we really loved our time at the Hamblin's house, and love the Hamblin family!

More Summer Fun

We have been going swimming as much as we can this summer.  It is nice to have friends with pools... we have been trying to stay cool and keep busy!  Pools are a great way to do both!

Also, for fun, the girls dyed their hair with kool-aid.  It is a semi-temporary color that fades out over a month or two... just enough time to get it all out before school starts again (hopefully!), since they are not allowed to have color at school!  Brooke and Ciera's didn't turn out very well the first time,  (which is in the picture), but we re-did it and it was really vivid!

Brooke and Autumn have fun building forts in the living room, which I don't let them do very often because of the mess that they make bringing their toys and treasures into the fort...  Once in a while I give in though!

Summer Fun at the Library

This summer has been filled with fun activities, one of which was the summer library program.  They had a reading rewards program, which all of the girls completed and got some free food coupons for different places around town, and a free book.  Each week they had a program for the kiddos and two for the teens... the girls attended as many as we could.  Some of them were "Dazzling Dave's Science Show", "Critterman", and "James Wand: Spy Magic".  My girls got to go up to the front in these shows... which was super cool!  I love the Library Summer Shows!

Independence Day 2014

This year for the Fourth of July, we attended our ward breakfast at the park in the morning.  They had a bike parade this year for the kids... they had a good time!  Later that day we went to our friend's house (The Denny's) for a party and fireworks.  We brought the American Flag cheesecake dessert.  It was a great day.  I am so grateful to be an American!!

It has been 17 years!?!!??!

It is hard to believe that it has been 17 years since I married my Sweetheart!  I love him more today than ever... Dave is my best friend and companion. I am so glad I get to spend forever with him!  Happy anniversary, my love!

Girls Camp 2014

Girls Camp was from June 10th through June 14th.  It was the week right after school got out, which turned out to be great because our weather was really awesome!  I got to go as an assistant camp leader, and Ciera and Chloe (Chloe's first year!) got to go too.  Dave's mom came on Sunday to spend time with us, and to watch Brooke and Autumn while I was at camp and Dave worked... which was SOOO nice.  I didn't have to worry about my little ones while I was away!
Our Girls Camp is done by the Stake, so there were about 160 girls total... 30 of which were from our ward.  The theme was "Anchored in Christ", and each ward got assigned a boat.  Wylie First Ward was the Lifeboat.  It was perfect.  We talked about the purpose of a lifeboat to rescue people, and related it to our responsibility to rescue souls.  It was great!  We had a fun week filled with sweat, bugs, dirt, and lots of fun!  It was a busy week, and we didn't get a lot of sleep, so the girls have been making up for it since!!  Ciera and Chloe both crashed out the afternoon we got home (and have been sleeping in all week since!)!!  I am so glad we had the opportunity to go to Girls Camp together, and for the lessons we learned, and the fun times we had... making memories that will last!
