I'm a big girl now!

Autumn has decided that she is big enough to begin going to the bathroom on the toilet. For a long time now she has told us what a big girl she is, and we have let her know that she will REALLY be big when she goes on the toilet. We sit her on the toilet when she asks to go, and NOTHING happens. So, finally, a few days ago, she asked to go on the toilet, and I almost said no. I mean, I was in the middle of something, and I was tired of her sitting there and nothing happening. But, I gave in and sat her on the toilet. Lo and behold, she peed! I made a big deal of it, and she has gone several times a day in the toilet since! (She still goes in her diaper too, so we have not quite graduated to underwear... but we are close!) And, the best part... I have not had to change a messy diaper in 4 days! She has been using the toilet exclusively for that particular thing!
Yeah for Autumn! My baby isn't a baby anymore. Sigh, sniff, sniff!

Happy Earth Day

The girls all wore their Earth Day t-shirts today to spread environmental awareness!

It was a blistering 73 degrees today when Ciera and Chloe got home from school, so we had to have Popsicles to cool down. Gosh, what are we going to do this summer when it really is hot?
Autumn didn't want to sit with the other girls, but Dave snapped a picture of her when she was trying to hide from the camera.

At long last... SPRING!

I noticed this morning that our first bulbs have bloomed! I was so excited to see our daffodils blooming I just had to share. I think spring is going to stay now! Hurray!

Soccer Chloe

Chloe started soccer last week. We have had so much snow lately that their team couldn't practice. So, they only had two short practices last week before their first game yesterday morning. Most of the girls on the team got to kick the ball a few times, and it seemed like they had fun. Unfortunately, our little team lost. The team that we were up against had some players that were a bit more experienced than our girls, (or they were on steroids... ) and so our girls had a hard time keeping them out of our goal! We are looking forward to the rest of the season, and hopefully our team will do better next time!

Fun times in Fresno

So these are the last of my pictures from our spring break in California. We had such a fun, full week while we were there, it took several posts to share all of our cute pictures.

I love this picture of Autumn. It shows her as she is a lot of the time... a look of mischief on her face. The wheels are always turning in that little head of hers. (And, whenever they get into trouble, Brooke always says that it was Autumn... maybe so.)
One afternoon we walked to a ponding basin and fed the ducks and geese. The kids loved it. We were able to see a Canada goose that was sitting on some eggs (and as we lured her off the nest with some bread, we saw the eggs). Chloe wanted to stay there all afternoon so that she could "watch the eggs". I told her that they wouldn't do anything, that they had time before they hatched. She responded that she wanted to "protect them" from the other ducks. Cute Chloe.

This picture was taken at the Fresno Zoo outside of the reptile house. (I don't know who the little girl in pink is... some random girl...) Chloe said the reptile house was her favorite because Dave worked there for a little while a long, long time ago.
Cousins Tanner and Hannah Dockstader. We spent a lot of time with Tanner, Hannah, and Jack during our week, and our girls absolutely loved it. They can't wait for them to come visit us in Logan!
The gang at the Zoo. (Autumn was making sure Jack was looking at the camera. She forgot that she was supposed to too!) We had such a great week, and look forward to our next visit in June!

Remember when it was warm?

While we were in California last week, the girls got to do some swimming in Grandma and Grandpa Tanner's new built in pool. Today, in the snow in Logan, I needed a reminder of warm days!
Autumn loves the water... it will be super fun this summer with her at the Logan Aquatic Center!
Brooke loves to "swim" too! She will be learning how to really swim this summer, and I think she will be like a fish once we get her going!
Chloe is our little crazy girl in the pool, (you never would have guessed, right?) and she loved to swim with her cousins!
Ciera liked to swim, but got cold pretty quickly (she has nothing to insulate her!) and so she didn't last long in the pool. But, I have no doubt that she will take to the water a lot better this summer when it is nice and hot outside!
Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for a lot of fun in your pool!
