Let Summer Begin!!

On Friday, the girls' summer vacation officially began!  After school, I gave them each a balloon which spelled out "School's Out For Summer!"  (Brooke started singing that over and over... it was cute!)  After that, I took them to see "Maleficent" in the theater.  It was a good movie, and a fun way to kick off summer vacation!  Dave's Mom got here today to spend time with the girls while Ciera, Chloe and I go off to girls camp this week.  Yay!

Water Fun!

At the end of the year, Dodd Elementary has a water day for the kids... which is so fun!  They have 4 inflatable water slides that each grade gets to play on for an hour of the day.  I went and spent the time with Autumn's grade and Brooke's grade on Thursday... it was fun watching them play on the slides!  I love my girls and am so happy with the schools they go to....

The End of the Year Already?!??!

It is hard to believe that the end of the school year is here!  I am so proud of how well my girls did this year!  They all ended the year with mostly A's and a few B's... but overall did outstanding this whole year!  On Tuesday and Wednesday, Brooke and Autumn had awards ceremonies.  Autumn got the "Enthusiastic Participant" award, and Brooke got Perfect Attendance and "Advanced" on her State Test in Math.  Both of them got t-shirts for "Marathon Kids"... a program where kids have a log to fill out when they walk or run up to 26.2 miles.  They both did the whole thing!  Ciera did really well on her state tests, got Advanced in Reading, History and Science.  Chloe also did well on her state tests, getting Advanced in Math too!  I am so proud of my girls!

Birthday Fun

For Ciera's birthday, we woke up early and had cinnamon rolls and opened gifts, then the girls left for school.  I was able to go eat lunch with Cici for her birthday... She wanted Panda Express.  It was fun sitting with her and her friends at school.  Her principal walked by and said he mistook me for a student at first. (Nice!  I must look like I belong in 8th grade still!  :) )
After school we went over to a friend's house and swam in their pool (which I didn't get any photos of... of course).  After dinner we had cake and ice cream.  Ciera wanted Olaf on her key-lime cake...  He was one of the easier ones I have done.  Tomorrow we get to take Ciera out for her parents-daughter date.  Happy Birthday Sweetheart!!

I can not believe that my Ciera is 14 years old!  She is a beautiful young woman and I am so proud of the person she is becoming!  Love you Cici!

Band News

Ciera had her last band concert of her Junior High Band career last night.  She has been in the top band all of her 3 years in band and always received division 1 on her solos and ensemble performances (the top scores).  She auditioned for her spot in the high school band two weeks ago and found out today that she got into the top high school band!  We are so proud of her!  Last night, at her concert, they played 3 songs for us.  The first was the Alma Mater of McMillan JHS, the second was called March of the Trolls (which I really liked), and the third was "Let it Go" from Frozen... which all the kids LOVED!  They did an outstanding job.  I look forward to hearing concerts from the Wylie East High School band soon!  (I tried to upload a video of the concert last night... but it would not load!  Sorry!)
