Then the next 6 years in Riverside, CA while Dave was doing graduate studies at UCR:
We then moved to picturesque Logan, Utah for the last 3 years.
Now it is time to move on. Dave was just offered a faculty position at the University of Guam. I know... GUAM. Such a far away, new place... but so beautiful!
We are excited for this new chapter of our lives, and hopefully it will prove to be an awesome adventure.
Ciera's birthday was a busy day. She woke up at 6:30 and woke us up to watch her open presents. She was really happy with everything she got!
After that, Ciera and Chloe had Stake Primary Choir practice. (The Primary children in our Stake are singing for our Stake Conference next month in the Logan Tabernacle. It should be a really great experience for them!)
Ciera wanted a Pikachu cake this year. (I don't really know why... but, whatever!) It turned out okay... the kids all knew who it was anyway.
After the cake, they opened presents then went down to watch a movie. They watched "The Princess Bride". (As much as a bunch of 10 year old, energetic, sassy girls can watch a movie at a party...) When it was time for them to go, I was ready! (I don't think Ciera was ready for them to go though!) I think she had a fun party and a fun day!
We also got to visit, last weekend, with our friends from Riverside who were up here for a grandmother's funeral. John and Heather, Michael and Hailey came up to see Peter Pan (John's brother's family lives here in Logan, and his sister-in-law was one of the directors of the play!) and the on Sunday came over to our house for a little bit to visit. It was fun to see them. It took a while for the kids (especially Michael and Ciera) to be comfortable with each other again after not seeing each other for so long, but by the time they left, it was (almost) like old times. All in all, it was a fun, and very busy, weekend!
Last week, the Elementary school did a production of Peter Pan. Ciera and Chloe were both in it... and it was great!A few months ago, I was approached to see if I would like to Co-direct a play at the school. I accepted, and we got started planning the show. We had 50 children involved, and we practiced for a little over 2 weeks. It was really amazing how well it came together, and how well the children did.
Ciera got one of the Peter Pan roles. (The role of Peter was split into 4 parts, since it was such a huge role.) She got to be in Neverland, meet the mermaids, save Tigerlily from Captain Hook, and bring Tinkerbell back after she took poison to save him.
As she got more comfortable with the role, she started to add her own flair to the part of Peter. She was a very sassy Peter Pan. When all was said and done, though, Ciera did a great job!
Chloe got one of the Wendy roles. (For the same reason as the Peter Pan roles, Wendy was split into two parts.) She was the "nursery Wendy". She opened the show, met Peter Pan and Tinkerbell, sewed on Peter's Shadow, and learned to fly! 
She was a great Wendy, and did a fabulous job!I had such a fun time working with the kids in the show. I was mostly in charge of movement. I got to choreograph little dances for the Indians, Lost Kids (we had more girls than boys...), and Mermaids. I also worked with Tinkerbell a little bit, since she "talked" through movement.
It was a very busy 2 1/2 weeks, but it was worth it. The children involved had such a great experience and gained so much from doing it, that I think I would do it again if they asked me to!
This weekend was very busy. On Saturday morning, I got up bright and early (actually, it was before it was bright...) and went down to Salt Lake City for the annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Myself, my neighbor (also in the Young Women's leadership), three young women from our ward, and our bishop all participated in the race. There were 20,000 people running or walking in the race this year. It was really great to see that many people united to find a cure for breast cancer.
Survivors got pink shirts and other participants got white shirts and were able to fill out papers to pin to their shirt with names of people they were running for. It was really an awesome experience.
I was able to run the entire 5K, and I made it in about 35 minutes. (I think I would have actually made it in less time, but it was SO crowded that it took a while for everyone to get going, and it was slow coming to the finishing line.) 
After we finished, they gave us bananas, oranges and water. All of the people that came with me to run did a great job!! I am planning on continuing to run in this race each year until a cure is found!
My girls made me signs for when I came home... it was so sweet, and made me feel really good to come home to see them hanging up!
After I got home from Salt Lake City, we planted our garden. Dave and I turned over all the soil, while the girls "helped" with their little gardening tools. 
Then we made the rows and the girls put the seeds in the ground and covered them. It was a whole family job. It was really great to have us all out there working together.
We planted peas, beans, beets, carrots, onions, pumpkins, tomatoes, jalapenos and bell peppers. I am SO excited to eat all the produce from our garden! ( I am not so excited about having to weed it all summer!)
We woke up this morning to a white wonderland. What?!? It is the END of April, and it is snowing. My tulips had just started to open yesterday, and now they are suffering in the cold. Poor tulips. Well, I guess we can be glad it is not really hot yet, huh? And, the snow melts quickly, so it is not really that bad! But it was a bit shocking!
