Primary Program 2008- "I am a Child of God"

Our little, spunky Autumn. She loves to say cheese for the camera... but you have to be really fast, or she is outta there!

Today was our ward Primary Program. The girls were so excited to do their parts and to sing all of the songs that they worked so hard on all year. They did such a great job! Chloe was the first child to do her part. She was asked about what she likes to do with her family and how to strengthen her family. Her part was "I like family home evening lessons and treats because it makes our family strong." I sure like having quality time with her too! Ciera got to prepare a two minute talk and present that to the congregation. She was nervous, but you couldn't tell when she spoke. She talked about how we all can Choose the Right. She said that our Heavenly Father has given us many things to help us make right choices. He gave us prayer, Jesus Christ, prophets, and the Holy Ghost. I am grateful for Ciera's talk and the fine young woman she is becoming. Brooke loved to see her sisters singing and doing their parts. Autumn loved the music, and led the music right along with the chorister for every song. It was a great program, and while I watched my girls up there I felt in my heart that my children really are children of God. I am so very lucky to have the wonderful family that I do.

Rainy Days and Mondays...

It was a rainy Monday afternoon... Sounds like the beginning of a scary story, but it is just how our day was yesterday. The girls got home from school, did their homework, and played Play-Dough with each other until I had them clean up for dinner. It is so nice when they can find something to do together, and when they get along for the whole afternoon! Brooke and Autumn like to make pretend "lunch" out of their dough. Ciera was using the molds to make different shapes and things, and Chloe used letter cutters to spell everyone's names. It was fun to watch them, and they had a great time. I am not sure the fun will last all winter though... we had better come up with some other fun activities to do as well!

We had a family band night tonight. It was loads of fun. The girls all played instruments (and Autumn danced along). They chose "I am a Child of God" and "I Love to see the Temple". Dave and I were the vocals, which is very difficult with the wide assortment of notes and beats coming from the instruments! The girls had a great time though, and I think we will have to do it again soon!

Friends... At Last!

Einstein and Edgar seem to be friends now. Just before I took this picture, Einstein had his paw over Edgar, holding him down, and he was licking him, giving him a bath. It was so cute. I am glad they finally like each other (and that Edgar has been using the litter-box for a whole day and a half)!

ALL ABOUT CATS

I don't know what we were thinking getting a new cat. Well, I actually do, and I am still glad we got Edgar, but it is quite an ordeal. Einstein still doesn't like him. In fact I think he has decided that he still wants to be a kitten to get all of that attention because we found him in Autumn's crib when it was time for bed tonight. So she got in with him and gave him some lovin'. Edgar is so cute and playful and cuddly... but he is NOT litter-box trained. Man, what a hassle. Hopefully he will get that soon, or I may lose my sanity. It is bad enough to clean up after my children, but now I have to clean up misplaced cat poop too! Oh well, I guess I will keep trying to get my cats to like each other and keep trying to get Edgar to use his litter-box. I mean, what else have I got to do?

Einstein is not loving the fact that we got a new kitten. In fact, he rather detests him (hopefully just for now). We picked Edgar up after the girls got done trick-or-treating on Halloween night. He is adjusting to us and the girls lovin' very well. Einstein, though, would rather us take him back. Too bad... I think he is a keeper!

Our neighbor Tyler came over to play with Brooke when we were out raking the front yard. They decided to play in the big pile that we had made. They had loads of fun that lasted a long time. I think we raked up the pile a hundred times after it kept getting scattered all over again. They were puppies who slept on leaf beds, they were bulldozers plowing through the big pile, and they even got out their scooters and rode through the pile just to see all the leaves get stuck on their scooters. Ahh, to be a child.
